About Us
BAR-1 is built on years of operational experience across countless real-world scenarios, drawn from the career of its founder and CEO, Yoav Barzilay — a highly decorated veteran of the IDF and the YAMAM (Israeli SWAT) unit.
Yoav enlisted in the Paratroopers in 1973, fought in the Battle of the Chinese Farm, and was discharged in 1976. Shortly afterward, he joined YAMAM as an operator, later serving as an ordnance officer and senior bomb disposal specialist. During his service, he took part in hundreds of operations — both classified and publicly reported — before leaving active duty in 2000.
The company holds several patents, including the OMER-1 fast-rope device and the DoublExit system. The OMER-1 was developed for vertical operations and fast-roping and is currently used by IDF special units and organizations worldwide. The Double Exit system, designed for building rescue and extraction, was developed in the wake of the September 11 World Trade Center disaster.

We conduct arms consultation activities for governmental, military, and defense industry clients, based on 30 years of operational defense systems experience. Additionally, we are actively developing operational solutions for medical response, demolitions, and search-and-rescue applications in high-risk environments.
Comprehensive courses and training
We conduct structured courses and training programs covering counter-terror operations, sabotage, intelligence, ground operations, naval activity, and aerial platforms. Training is delivered in an operational context and aligned with mission profiles and force requirements.
Extraction and rescue equipment
We supply extraction and rescue equipment for emergency response operations, including specialized vehicles, search and rescue gear, medical equipment, and communication systems.
Emergency Food Supply
In addition to defense-focused activities, we provide emergency food supply capabilities for crisis and humanitarian scenarios.
Ammunition
We supply a comprehensive range of ammunition, including small arms ammunition, artillery shells, mortar rounds, grenades and more.
Tactical Equipment
